Nevada clinicals for Concordia University Wisconsin NP students
Nevada residents can enroll: Concordia University Wisconsin's current disclosure marks the state "Meets Requirements" in each of its five graduate NP tables. The harder questions come after enrollment: Nevada sits outside the NLC, so clinical hours there call for a Nevada-issued RN license, and its Board wants online programs approved before they teach clinically in the state.

On CUW's Distance Education Disclosures page, Nevada lands in the "Meets" column of every graduate NP table, and the online RN to BSN table agrees. The only gaps are programs without a table.

Nevada's Board and programs delivered online
Nevada regulation NAC 632.703 applies when a school based elsewhere teaches some of its program inside Nevada. The school files a report using a form the Board supplies, attaches its accreditation or home-state approval, shows that it follows Nevada's nursing law (NRS and NAC 632), and keeps sending annual reports. For a school teaching over the internet, clinical instruction in Nevada waits for Board approval, and its faculty teaching in Nevada hold Nevada licenses.
Graduate programs get no separate treatment in that text. The Board's program list dated September 1, 2026 shows five schools from elsewhere approved to run just their clinical portion in Nevada; all five prepare students for first licensure at the ADN or BSN level, and CUW's name does not appear. Full practice, and the Board's two-student ceiling
AANP rates Nevada full practice. The main exception concerns Schedule II drugs: a Nevada NP gains that authority once two years of clinical experience, or 2,000 hours of it, are behind them, and a physician-approved protocol allows it earlier. An NP-owned primary care office can therefore host your hours, provided CUW's graduate faculty approve the preceptor (see what CUW has asked of preceptors).
Precepting itself falls under a Board practice decision from 2005. All student clinical experience stays under faculty direction, the preceptor is physically present and takes two students at most, faculty can be reached by phone, and the school supplies an orientation plus written objectives.
Southern Nevada, Reno and Carson City
Census estimates for 2025 count about 2.41 million residents in greater Las Vegas, Henderson included, roughly 579,000 in the Reno metro and near 59,000 in Carson City's. Those are the markets where your 750 FNP or AGPCNP hours (three primary care clinicals of 250) will most likely be found.
Systems to research, each with its own student rules: Renown Health; UMC, formally University Medical Center of Southern Nevada, which serves as an academic medical center; Sunrise Health System under HCA Healthcare; The Valley Health System, whose operator is a subsidiary of Universal Health Services; and Dignity Health, which runs hospitals in Las Vegas and Henderson. CUW names none of them as a partner, and a new clinical contract with any site takes weeks.
Your license: Nevada-issued, not multistate
Nevada has stayed out of the NLC, and the compact's map shows no bill pending there, so a Wisconsin multistate license gives you no Nevada privilege. The Board's practice decision on patient care leaves no gap: whoever cares for a patient in Nevada, including a student during hands-on clinical education, needs a Nevada Board license.
No APRN Compact enactment exists in Nevada either. CUW's own rule is an unencumbered RN license for MSN, DNP and CAGE students, or an unencumbered NP prescribing license for the PMHNP certificate and PMHNP DNP (more on CUW's license rule).

Is CUW's online FNP open to Nevada residents?
CUW's current disclosure says yes. Its MSN primary care NP table, which covers the FNP and AGPCNP tracks, places Nevada in the "Meets" column, and both DNP tables and both CAGE certificates agree. You still find your own preceptors, and CUW's graduate faculty approve them.
Will my Wisconsin compact license work for Nevada clinicals?
It will not. Nevada never joined the NLC, and the Board's practice decision treats nursing education involving direct patient contact as care that needs a Nevada license. Apply to the Nevada State Board of Nursing a term before your first clinical, so licensure is not the thing that delays your start.
How many students may a Nevada preceptor take at one time?
Two, under the 2005 practice decision, with the preceptor on site. An NP already hosting two students from other schools during your semester cannot add you. CUW's archived 2014-15 handbook also limited the program hours you could spend with any single preceptor to 400.
What about PMHNP clinicals in Nevada?
CUW's disclosure carries no row for the MSN PMHNP or the PMHNP DNP, so Nevada is neither listed nor ruled out for those two. The PMHNP certificate's table does mark Nevada as meeting requirements. Confirm with CUW before you approach a psychiatric preceptor for your 500 hours.
