New Hampshire is one of the simpler states for Concordia University Wisconsin's online nurse practitioner students. CUW's disclosure puts it under "Meets Requirements" in all five graduate NP tables, it shares compact membership with Wisconsin, and AANP counts it as full practice. What the New Hampshire Board asks of schools from elsewhere
New Hampshire's nursing board is housed in OPLC (the Office of Professional Licensure and Certification). Its out-of-state provision, Nur 602.15(j), is titled "Distance Education-Pre-Licensure," and every step in it assumes a school training students for a first license. That school files the following before its students reach a New Hampshire facility.

CUW's NP programs are post-licensure, and on OPLC's education page RN-BSN and RN-MSN programs sit in the post-licensure group the Board leaves unregulated. The rule's status adds a wrinkle: Cornell's LII copy dates its expiration to January 23, 2026, OPLC cited it that same January, and a readoption has not been confirmed.
Full practice, and CUW's own preceptor bar
AANP places New Hampshire among full practice states. An NP-led office can stand on its own there, which widens the list of primary care sites worth a call for FNP and AGPCNP students, who need 750 hours across three clinicals (PMHNP programs need 500).
State law is only half the test. CUW's graduate faculty approve each preceptor and site for appropriateness, and CUW's dated standards asked for a licensed, board-certified clinician with practice experience and, for the FNP and AGPCNP tracks, a primary care setting. Manchester, Nashua, Concord and the Massachusetts question
Census estimates for 2025 put about 433,000 people in the Manchester-Nashua metro and about 158,000 in the Concord micropolitan area, and roughly 459,000 New Hampshire residents are counted inside the Boston-Cambridge-Newton metro. Five systems are worth reading up on for their student rules. Dartmouth Health counts Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center among its parts, HCA Healthcare owns Catholic Medical Center, and Concord Hospital Health System is another name to check. Elliot Health System and Southern New Hampshire Health launched SolutionHealth together, a partnership their boards moved to unwind in a July 2025 proposal.
A Boston-area practice can look close from Nashua, but CUW's MSN table lists Massachusetts, like Vermont, as not meeting requirements, and the catalog makes clinical-state eligibility your job (see clinicals outside Wisconsin). Maine is the neighbor that meets in every graduate table.
Licensing: two compact states from the same day
Your compact license travels here. Both Wisconsin and New Hampshire brought the NLC into effect on January 19, 2018, so a multistate RN license from your home member state covers New Hampshire clinicals. Neither state has enacted the separate APRN Compact, and that compact needs seven enactments before it runs at all.
CUW's written rule covers the license you keep unencumbered: RN for the MSN, DNP and CAGE, NP with prescribing authority for the PMHNP certificate and PMHNP DNP. Where that license must be issued is not spelled out, so ask, and see RN license for clinicals.

Can I take CUW's online NP programs while living in New Hampshire?
Yes. Whether you choose FNP or AGPCNP, the MSN falls under a table that lists New Hampshire as meeting requirements, and the doctoral and CAGE tables say the same. Only the MSN PMHNP and PMHNP DNP lack a table, so confirm those two with CUW.
Can I do CUW clinicals in Massachusetts if I live near Nashua?
Ask CUW first. Its MSN primary care NP table lists Massachusetts as not meeting requirements, and the 2026-27 catalog puts the job of confirming a clinical state's eligibility on the student. Keep your search in New Hampshire or Maine unless CUW tells you otherwise in writing.
Does New Hampshire make CUW register my placement?
Registration under Nur 602.15(j), with its six weeks' notice and per-rotation forms, targets programs preparing students for a first license, and OPLC treats post-licensure programs as beyond the Board's reach. The rule's readoption is unconfirmed, so let the Graduate Clinical Coordinator say whether CUW files anything for your placement.
Is a New Hampshire-issued license needed for my clinical hours?
Usually not. A multistate license from the member state where you live already reaches New Hampshire, which has taken part in the NLC since January 2018. The exception is a single-state license from outside the NLC, which ends at its issuing state's border. CUW, meanwhile, expects your license to remain unencumbered for the entire program.
