Missouri clinicals for Concordia University Wisconsin NP students
Missouri clears all five graduate NP tables in Concordia University Wisconsin's current disclosure, so a Missouri RN can study with CUW from home. Missouri is among the tighter practice states, so any NP who precepts you answers to a physician collaborator under state rules. Both big metros also straddle a state line, with different rules waiting on the far side.

Restricted practice and the collaborating physician
AANP files Missouri under restricted practice. The physician tie never lapses there: an NP's collaborative arrangement lasts the length of a career, and the state layers on rules for collaboration ratios, chart review and controlled-substance prescribing. Any Missouri NP you approach works inside that state-defined relationship.
That arrangement can widen your options rather than narrow them. The collaborating physician is a possible second preceptor, since CUW's archived handbooks accepted physicians as well as NPs, within limits covered in the FAQ below. Missouri's Board, the compact and your license
Nurses in Missouri are licensed through the State Board of Nursing, part of the state's Division of Professional Registration. The Board's program chapter, 20 CSR 2200-2, is written for schools it approves; a Wisconsin school sending one student to a Missouri clinic appears nowhere in it, and the published record shows no filing or notice for CUW to make. RSMo 335.081(6)(a) lets students of "approved schools of professional nursing" practice under supervision, but leaves open whether a school approved in another state qualifies.
Since you are already an RN, lean on your license. Missouri's compact statute begins at RSMo 335.360 and took effect July 20, 2017; the multistate license itself went live on January 19, 2018. A preceptor tax credit that leaves NPs out
Missouri does offer a preceptor incentive, but read its terms. Under RSMo 135.690, the state's community-based faculty preceptor credit, claimable from January 1, 2023, is limited to two professions: physicians and PAs licensed in Missouri, teaching Missouri medical or PA students through unpaid primary care rotations of 120 hours or more. The statute gives NPs and nursing students no place in it, so the credit adds nothing to a physician's decision about a CUW NP student.
Metros, systems and two state lines
The Missouri share of the St. Louis metro tops 2.1 million people and the Missouri share of Kansas City's comes to about 1.3 million, while Springfield and Columbia trail well behind. Systems worth knowing include BJC HealthCare and SSM Health, the St. Louis-based Mercy, CoxHealth, and MU Health Care, the University of Missouri's system. Each sets its own student rules, and CUW presents none of them as a partner.

Questions CUW students ask
Is CUW's online FNP an option for a Missouri resident?
It is. Missouri reads "Meets Requirements" in CUW's MSN primary care NP table, the one that governs FNP students, AGPCNP students and both dual-degree paths. No Missouri-specific enrollment restriction appears on CUW's pages; the only published limit concerns F-1 visa holders.
Does CUW have to register with Missouri before my clinicals?
Nothing in Missouri's published nursing rules asks a school from another state to file for approval or send notice first; the Board's program chapter covers schools it approves. The steps that matter are CUW's own: graduate faculty approval of your preceptor and site, and, in CUW's archived process, a contract with the site in place before you see patients.
Can the collaborating physician be my preceptor instead of the NP?
It can work under CUW's older rules. The 2014-15 handbook counted physicians among acceptable preceptors, while reserving at least 50 program hours for time with an NP and capping a semester at two preceptors unless approved. Since those rules are over a decade old, raise the physician's name with the Graduate Clinical Coordinator before submitting anything.
Is CUW's PMHNP certificate open to Missouri NPs?
CUW's CAGE (PMH NP) table lists Missouri as meeting requirements. For the psychiatric MSN and DNP there is no table, so Missouri's status stays unpublished. Psychiatric NPs in Missouri work under the same physician collaboration rule, and CUW has never posted credential rules for PMHNP preceptors; graduate faculty can tell you what they expect.
