Concordia University Wisconsin's current disclosure marks Wyoming "Meets Requirements" for the MSN primary care NP, both DNPs and both CAGE certificates, a turnaround from CUW's 2022 pages, which listed Wyoming among states it was not enrolling from. Clinicals in Wyoming run on a notice system: graduate programs tell the Board of Nursing a student is coming rather than asking permission.

From an old exclusion list to Meets
CUW's archived 2022 MSN page and its 2022 Post-MSN DNP page both named Wyoming among states CUW was not accepting new students from. By the 2024 MSN capture, Wyoming had dropped off that list, and today every graduate NP table reads "Meets" for it. The one table that goes the other way is the online RN to BSN.

Wyoming's notice rule for graduate programs from elsewhere
The Wyoming State Board of Nursing treats an out-of-state program differently depending on whether its students are already nurses. Programs preparing first-time LPNs and RNs need the Board's permission. Programs for licensed nurses (the Board's list names RN-to-BSN, MSN, DNP and APRN programs) are spared that approval, but its Chapter 6 rules still attach three duties.
- Registration in Wyoming.The program must hold one of two credentials: NC-SARA approval, or registration with Wyoming's Department of Education. CUW's 2024 online-programs page reported CUW's NC-SARA participation; the current disclosure page does not address it.
- Written notice.For every student bound for a clinical placement inside Wyoming, the program sends the Board a written notice; the Board makes a sample cover letter available.
- A signed facility agreement.Program and facility sign a written contract before any clinical day, and the program keeps that contract where the Board can review it.

Precepting in a state of small cities
AANP counts Wyoming among full practice states, so NPs there see patients and prescribe without a physician agreement, and an experienced NP in a family practice can anchor a whole course. The Board's published licensing condition for preceptors (a clean, active license at the RN or APRN level, Wyoming-issued or multistate) sits in its pre-licensure guidance; for graduate students, confirm expectations with CUW and read CUW's own preceptor standards.
Population is thin, which shapes the search. Cheyenne and Casper are the only metropolitan areas, Gillette is a micropolitan one, and the rest is long highway between towns. Hospitals anchor each population center: Cheyenne Regional Medical Center in the capital, Banner Wyoming Medical Center in Casper under Arizona's Banner Health, Gillette's Campbell County Health, Laramie's Ivinson Memorial Hospital (a UCHealth affiliate), and Sheridan Memorial in Sheridan. Each sets its own terms for students; this page presents none of them as working with CUW. Remember that FNP and AGPCNP hours belong in primary care.
Licensing: compact since 2018, APRN Compact in statute
Wyoming has honored multistate RN licenses since the Nurse Licensure Compact took effect there in January 2018, the month Wisconsin joined as well. The Legislature also enacted the APRN Compact, now codified in Title 33 of the Wyoming Statutes. That compact stays dormant until seven states enact it, so an APRN license from one state does not yet carry into another.
CUW requires an unencumbered RN license for the length of the program and publishes no rule about a license in the clinical state; the RN license guide covers what to ask.

Can I take CUW's online AGPCNP or FNP while living in Wyoming?
CUW's current disclosure lists Wyoming as meeting requirements for the MSN primary care NP, which covers both tracks, and for the Post-BSN DNP. You secure your own preceptors, CUW's graduate faculty approve them, and the Board notice and facility contract Wyoming expects fall to CUW as the program.
Does the Wyoming Board of Nursing have to approve CUW before my clinicals?
Not for a graduate program. The Board exempts post-licensure programs, including MSN and DNP programs, from its approval process, but it expects written notice of each student's Wyoming clinical, state registration or NC-SARA approval, and a signed contract with the facility kept on file for the Board.

CUW's RN to BSN table places Wyoming under Does Not Meet Requirements, the opposite of its graduate NP tables. A Wyoming RN planning the bachelor's step at CUW should raise that with CUW admissions before enrolling, since the program's licensure answer for Wyoming differs from the NP programs'.
